"You just need to watch the children to see how engaged and excited they are by the activities".
A member of staff from the Arts and Crafts Club
Introduction

Afternoon Clubs were introduced this year to widen the curriculum and give more emphasis on the creative element of education. Children learn so much through creative play that we felt it necessary to give these extra curricula activities the dedicated time that they deserve.

We aim to change the clubs each term according to children's and parents requests. Here are some examples of the clubs that parents were offered for this current term: Drama, ICT, Book Club, Forestry, Farming, Cooking, Science & Gymnastics.

Drama Club - Wednesdays

By the creators of Dinky Dancers we bring you Active Creative's Performing Arts Club. This specialised company have joined up with the Bo-Peep Team to create a bespoke program just for us. It offers a wonderful combination of drama, dance, singing and art.

"The success of The Performing Arts Club has always been in our combination of thematically based classes, taught to a high standard, within a friendly and encouraging environment. By introducing children to the four different art forms with a creative, performance based focus we provide an opportunity for them to develop creatively, physically, musically and socially." they say.

This half term the theme is 'We're going on a Bear Hunt' and a small play will be showcased at the end of the half term.

Arts & Crafts - Fridays

This half term the theme is Animals.

The club offers the children a chance to get their creative juices flowing, by creating individual master pieces and also to collaborate with their peers to make something as a whole group. This encourages relationship building, sharing, conflict resolution, and group play. The children also have a chance to express themselves freely in the 'free art' activites.

Watch this space for next half term's theme.
